After a long holiday of putting the rounds on Moonah Links Resort's championship golf courses<\/a>, chances are you've worked up quite a thirst. Though Pebbles Restaurant on-site has plenty of great food and beverage options, there are also some must-visit locations nearby as well.<\/p>\n

Here are the two breweries you should visit in the area.<\/p>\n

Red Hill Brewery<\/strong><\/p>\n

Described on TripAdvisor as 'delightful', 'brilliant', and 'awesome', Red Hill Brewery makes for a great place to stop for a pint or two to accompany a hearty meal. <\/p>\n

Red Hill is an independent brewery located within the township of Red Hill which specialises in European-style beers. The establishment is run by Karen and Dave Golding, and was the peninsula's first brewery when it was opened in 2005. It was also one of the first places to brew Imperial Stout beer locally, which has since become highly regarded by locals. <\/p>\n

They are open more days in the summer than in winter, and serve pub-friendly food between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. during open days. They have a range of beers that are available year round, though you should return from season to season to also try the limited-release specials that they also produce. <\/p>\n

Mornington Peninsula Brewery<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Mornington Peninsula Brewery is located within Mornington, about half an hour from Moonah Links Resort.<\/p>\n

Plans to create a new brewery that symbolised the honesty and luxury of the peninsula began in 2008, and amounted in the Mornington Peninsula Brewery finally opening two years later. The Head Brewer, Andrew Gow, creates his masterpieces by utilising the experience he gained working with other companies such as Matilda Bay, Mountain Goat and 5 Islands.<\/p>\n

Mornington Peninsula Brewery is open Thursdays to Sundays all year round, generally from the early afternoon until late. It's not just a place to eat and drink, however, but to be educated and enjoy some light entertainment as well. Complementary brewery tours are offered on Thursdays and Saturdays, and local musicians play every Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. <\/p>\n

But the beer is what you'll really remember. <\/p>\n

The India Pale Ale, Mornington Peninsula IPA, is a sweet, American-hopped brew with a fruity flavour and hints of malt. The Witbier range, a Belgian-style wheat beer, is created with both wheat and barley malts. It has a peppery citrus smell, with a citrus taste as well. <\/p>\n

If neither of those take your fancy, you could also try or take away an English-style brown ale, American-style pale ale or the regularly changing specialty brew, crafted by Andrew Gow himself.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
