Spring is in the air… or at least it will be soon. September may seem like a long ways off, but it will be here before you know it, and that makes now the perfect time to start thinking about planning a spring holiday in Victoria<\/a>.  <\/p>\n

We've rounded up a series of the area's upcoming events to inspire your itinerary: <\/p>\n

1. Mornington Railway Father's Day special  <\/strong><\/p>\n

September 6 <\/p>\n

\n\t\"VisitingWho wouldn't love a chance to ride on a heritage steam train?<\/figurecaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

Visiting Mornington Railway is a treat at any time, but the volunteer-run centre is making it even more special for Father's Day<\/a>.  <\/p>\n

Honour Dad with a train ride, followed by a BBQ where he can enjoy a free sausage. Everyone in the family with an appreciation for big machines and history will enjoy getting a first-hand experience on the heritage steam locomotive. You can also check out the diesel heritage engine and partake in the raffle. <\/p>\n

2. Storm in a Teacup  <\/strong><\/p>\n

July 24 – September 27 <\/p>\n

From July to September, the Storm in a Teacup<\/a> exhibition will provide an interesting look at one of Australia's favourite pastimes: drinking tea. <\/p>\n

This special collection at the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery (MPRG) presents the picturesque side of the beloved afternoon tea with paintings and other works. However, the exhibition isn't all fun and no reflection. It also takes a look at some more serious topics, such as the effect tea drinking has on the environment and the more darker role it played in colonialism. <\/p>\n

This thought-provoking exhibit may be the major draw for some visitors, but be sure to check out the rest of the gallery as well. <\/p>\n

3. Red Hill Spring Garden Festival  <\/strong><\/p>\n

September 12<\/p>\n

4. The Victorian Spring Garden and Lifestyle Show <\/strong><\/p>\n

September 25-27 <\/p>\n

New plants, novel techniques, bright ideas: The Victorian Spring Garden and Lifestyle Show<\/a> is all about inspiration. From brilliant garden designs to a series of educational workshops and lectures, you'll have plenty to see, learn and enjoy at this event. <\/p>\n
