One of the benefits of spending your holidays in Victoria is being able to appreciate the incredible bounty and natural beauty of the region. What better way to do that than to visit one of the Mornington Peninsula's many markets? From craft stalls selling artisanal goods to farmer's markets selling fresh local produce and seafood, put these four high on your list when deciding what to do on Mornington Peninsula.

Red Hill Community Market

One of the peninsula's most famous markets, the Red Hill Community Market has been running since 1975 when 28 local producers coming together to barter and sell their goods. The market now has over 300 different stall holders and is open on the first Saturday of the month, September to May, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. From furniture to pasta sauce and breakfast food, you'll find something for everyone at this craft market.

Emu Plains Market

Located on the Balnarring Racecourse, the Emu Plains Market is open on the third Saturday of every month, October to April, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. This artsy market has dozens of unique stalls offering a variety of products including skincare, homeware, jewellery and art. Should you get hungry, you can grab a bite from one of the many food stalls serving up everything from spring rolls to Dutch pancakes. Even the location of the market is unique – Emu Plains is set amongst a picturesque stringybark forest and the area has been a reserve since 1860.

Boneo Community Market

Just a five-minute drive from Moonah Links Resort, the Boneo Community is a volunteer-run market offering up a variety of homemade crafts as well as produce and Devonshire tea. While the market's "make it, grow it, bake it" philosophy should already have you enthusiastic about buying its goods, the fact that all the proceeds go to local causes is just the icing on the cake. The Boneo market is open on the third Saturday of every month from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
